Erudite Encounters encourages intamacy and bonding through conversatipn and collaboratiopn. is proud to provide an opportunity for local BIPOC authors to have their books made available for purchase through our online store and during large-scale pop-up events.

Qualified Books Standards include (but not limited to):

  • Printed and bound spine displaying the title and author name (no spiral binding).

  • Paperback, hardcover, board, or equivalent cover displaying the title and author name.

  • 13-digit International Standard Book Number (ISBN) on the front or back cover.

  • Erudite Encounters reserves the right to reject a book for any reason.



  • The Consignor will provide Erudite Encounters no more than three copies of their book(s).

  • The book(s) must be delivered and received in-person.

  • The book(s) remain the property of the Consignor until sold.

  • Erudite Encounters will display at least one copy of the book(s) on a “Local Authors” shelf.

  • If all copies of the book(s) are sold, Erudite Encounters may request additional copies.

  • Erudite Encounters is not responsible for damaged, stolen, or lost merchandise.



  • Book(s) will be displayed for a period of six months (the Consignment Period).

  • Based on shelf space, Erudite Encounters determines when the book will be displayed (beginning of Consignment Period).

  • Erudite Encounters will not market or provide special advertising under this agreement.

  • At the end of the six months, Erudite Encounters will determine whether to extend the Consignment Period for another six months.

  • Upon the sale of the book(s), the Consignor will receive 60% of the retail value of the book per copy sold.

  • Erudite Encounters will send a check every 60 days when the amount due is $25 or more.

  • If total sales do not exceed $25 at the end of the consignment period, the Consignor will receive payment when picking up the remaining book(s).

  • If the Consignor does not pick up the remaining book(s) within 60 days of the end of the Consignment Period, the book(s) will be donated to a charitable organization of our choosing.


If you agree to information above and would like us to stock your book as a consignment, please click below to complete a brief questionaire and submit it with a non-returnable copy of your book. We will contact you when we have reviewed the book.
